I disagree. As soon as the evidence is shown, we should be ready to attack. I think we are nearing that point. Rumsfield has already stated there is a direct connection. I trust both he and President Bush on this issue. And I think they decided to invade Iraq and then went looking for the evidence.

This is not an administration that is known for disclosing more than it has to or needs to. When it's time to line up Congress and/or the UN, that would be an excellent time to reveal additional evidence. The recent Congressional hearings would have been a good time IF they had the evidence.

Ok. This cinches it.
We are now living in a parallel universe.
To: ProudAmerican2
Sounds perfectly reasonable to me. Attacking countries without provocation is wrong and foolish. Certainly. But an attack on Iraq - and Saudi Arabia, for that matter - was provoked one day last September.
To: ProudAmerican2
The time I suggested would be better.

Certainly. But an attack on Iraq - and Saudi Arabia, for that matter - was provoked one day last September. If there is a link between the terrorists and the Iraqi and Saudi government, then there is a provokation.

Arme, don't you know it's not polite to disturb the groupthink?
If we've got enough to attack Iraq, then make congress declare war.
To: Dog Gone
The time I suggested would be better. Until I see the proof, I can not support the war.

Fine, but right now there is no war against Iraq to support. It's not important to line up your support today.

Hmmm?
Seem's it's becoming a time for choosing.
Isolate or Dominate?
This wishy-washy "Third Way" crap just isn't workin' out very well.

We have provocation. Iraq is a terrorist state.
Armey would be right except for that tiny little detail.
To: Real Cynic No More
This is Armey's first step in declaring for a Presidential run in 2004. He's still the idiot he always has been. Armey is not running for re-election this year, could be a possibility, with all those thousands(i.e minute % of the electorate) hard core Harry Browne voters out there.

"He has a right to hold dominion within his own national boundaries, as obnoxious as he is and as comical as he can be."
So, lemme get this straight...Just so long as Hitler only rounds up, tortures and exterminates German Jews, it's no big deal. But boy, if he so much as uses harsh language at a Russian Jew, we'll get him then! He better watch out!
Good heavens, If all is as it would seem, Mr. Armey is an idiot.
I can't help but wonder if Mr. Armey is providing opposition to an operation even Dubya no longer wants in order to provide political cover. Armey is retiring, so he can be seen as being outspoken without cost. That is distasteful enough.
I sure hope the House Majority Leader is misquoted here. I don't see a happy alternative.

We have provocation. Iraq is a terrorist state. So do we attack Syria, North Korea, Sudan, Iran...after Iraq?
To: Dane
Armey isn't THAT stupid that he would run against an incumbent President with approval ratings in the stratosphere. UNLESS.......this is a 'Plan B' for Armey just in case GW's numbers tank. That is the ONLY thing I can think of because Armey is NOT a stupid man.

Why do we continually shoot ourselves in the foot? Republicans write the book, on how to defeat republicans, for for the demorats.... You lose elections with an unprovoked and potentially disasterous invasion of Iraq. Disagreements within a political party are healthy and dare I say democratic.
