"In fact Muslims do worship the same god as Christians and Jews."

In fact they do not.

In fact Muslims do worship the same god as Christians and Jews.

I don't believe they do. Read about our God and the personality of the God we worship and the one they worship are not the same.

Christians and Muslims do not worship the same God, unless Muslims wish to agree that Jesus is God and Lord. The popular notion that Jews, Christians and Muslims worship the same God is blasphemous to all three religions, and founded only in modern pluralism. Jews do not worship Jesus, nor do Muslims. For the Christian, not to adhere to the Trinity is not be Christian at all.

Yes there is one God and He is in control of everything and everyone, Yes, everyone ( according to the teaching of all three faiths) will stand before Him for judgement. But to say all worship the same God because we use the same generic word is like saying that all references to "Mike" must refer to the same person."

Is Allah triune? If not we are not talking about the same God.
Does Allah have a son? If not, then we are not discussing the same God.
Is Allah a vicarious Redeemer and atoning Lamb of God, taking away the sins of the world? If not, then we are not talking about the same God.

In a politically correct. politically charged , postmodern culture, these principles are neither popular nor welcome. But they are essential to an effective witness. (Phil, 2:5-11)

I really wish everyone would read the new book out " Unveiling Islam". I have learned so much. The book is written by three Christian preachers ( brothers) who converted from Islam. It doesn't bash Islam, it just explains it and compares it to Christianity. I couldn't put it down once I started reading it. Actually it scared the hell out of me.

As a Jew, the non-reaction of Christiandom to the desecration of the Church of the Nativity shocked me.

As a Christian, it saddened me only because I saw the desecration of the Church of the Nativity as an attempt to desecrate Christianity. But was a surprised at their attempt. But God is everywhere and I'm sure it made Him sad too.

I visited Israel several years ago and we were there. I bent down to enter that small door and we went in to pray. It was a glorious time. Some day I will go back.

The Muslims call Christians " People of the book". They believe the scriptures that we believe in have been corrupted by the dirty Jew.. Of course none accept the New Testament.. Mohammad changed and rewrote the scriptures to fit his delusions. They believe Abraham and Jesus were Muslims.

Now, do we worship the same god? Abraham isn't even the same Abraham of the Bible.

If I may add to your excellent #89:

The God of the Old Testament told Moses: "I AM, That I AM." And gave Moses the written word. Moses did not say to the people "I am great! The Lord has guided me...and not you."

Jesus said: "I AM, the truth and the light." And taught His follwers that truth.

Mohammmed said: "I speak for the Lord...do as I command."

Speaking for myself: I hope the difference is clear.

I can hear it now...

Khalid the editor: "Ahmed, the Americans are on to us, we need to do something."

Ahmed, the crack, cub reporter: "I know, I'll write an op-ed piece and pull an American name out of the New York City Phone book!"

Khalid: "Ahmed, you are truly brilliant! Allah has blessed us with your gift of deceipt!"

Ahmed: Who's Ahmed, my name's Frank Fugate, BWHA HA HA HA!!!"

Khalid: Good one! BWA HA HA HA!!!

Enjoy your muslim friends but try this test - bring up Daniel Pearl and tell me they aren't looking at your soft warm throat as they smile and tell you "it was nothing, an abberation, he may have been a spy for Israel...besides, you aren't Jewish, are you...?"

Just got chills reading your reply. That is so on target.. Dead on... (shiver)

Maybe that is a good litmus test. Have you asked Moslems about Pearl and gotten an evasive response?

Yeah, I have heard about 9/11. And Daniel Pearl. The Muslims who did those things, or who sympathize with the ones who did or justify those actions by their words or their silence are evil and dangerous. But I certainly hope that there are some decent American muslims who just want to have a good life and raise their families as Americans and who don't want to cut my throat or yours. This thread is all about anecdotal evidence. That was the only anecdote I could offer. But I will let you know the results of the Pearl test.

Thanks for stating the obvious. You're such a help.

Are you trying to tell me there are no good Muslims in America?

Hmmmmm, the Arabs I know (of) flew planes into the towers and murdered thousands

Arab Muslims, to be accurate. Christian Arabs (like WND's Joseph Farah) are completely different.
