I been to Nebraska several times. Outside of Omaha, it's nothing but flat farmland. Hell, it was boring to fly over!

Well, then you must've been flying over when the tornados and icestorms weren't around. I'm not 100 percent sure of this, but I think the american great planes region is the only place in the world where you get thunder snow storms. You can have thunder, lighting, ice, snow, flash floods, and tornadoes all at once.
