Good Grief! Arrested, strip-searched, and thrown in jail for filing a complaint. All the while, we hear constant complaints about how little jail space we have...this is crazy.
To: Printers Angel
And after a few months of these antics, the New Albany police dept will loudly proclaim that they receive the fewest complaints in the nation.
Sounds like the New Albany PD needs an off duty visit from the vigilance committee.

"It doesn't make sense to make it scary or dangerous for a citizen to go down and make a complaint about a policeman,'' McNamara said. Anyone who would question anything any police officer does is desecrating the graves of the FDNY and NYPD heroes who died on September 11, 2001.
And anyone who does not recognize the above statement to be sarcasm proves the point.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
Sheesh! When will you people get past this 'hero' crap for the NY Firemen, Police and victims in the towers! Do you think for 1 minute that they would have gone in those towers, or for that matter been allowed to go in, had they known they would collapse? True heroes go in when they know it will probably kill them, not when there's a stray chance it will. I'm not trying to put down their sacrifice, but by calling everybody who died 'heroes', you diminish the meaning of the word.

You didn't read the second sentence of my post, did you?
To: E. Pluribus Unum
I was going to reply to state that some moron would certainly offer a knee-jerk reaction to your posting without even noticing that you even stated that it was sarcasm. Guess I was too late.

Guilty as charged! Big OOPS!
To: Dimensio
My point is that a large percentage of people actually believe that the first statement has merit, as proved by our friend.
To: E. Pluribus Unum
Actually he didn't believe it had merit -- he thought you thought it had merit ... or something like that. :-)

Exactly! Only, I was too overzealous in getting a reply out there and failed to read the second sentence. Call me dumb, I deserve it...
To: Printers Angel
This is but one of the reasons I choose to stay out of New Albany.
To: Printers Angel
I think New Albany is a rather well off city. I hope she bankrupts the place. This is not how a free society operates.

He's another story for you titled 'garrison state'. I don't have time to play 'HTML', so you'll just have to cut and paste in your browser:

I'm not a lawsuit happy fan, but I agree with you on this one. Have you followed the New Rome fiasco? (newromesucks.com)
To: Printers Angel
Nah, I missed that one. Seems like the LEO's can do no wrong anywhere

Looks like the big bad policeman couldn't intimidate the little 18-year old girl. The young sweetie has more 'nads than a lot of so-called 'men' that I know.
To: SpartacusII
I'm not about to call you "dumb".
I never use written sarcasm. Without tone, rolling eyes, belly laughs and hand gestures, sarcasm, even the clever variety, is too easily misunderstood.
