This kid's IQ is 182+/-

Goodness, unless this is on a different scale than I was taught, 130 is top 2.5%, 140+ is 1%, 182 must be like .0001%.

Maybe I should have said "reportedly" since I actually hadn't witnessed a test nor had I actually seen the "official" results. I presume my friend innocent of lying until he gives reasons otherwise.

Of IQ's, mine is 132, so I don't know which "scale" is being used that you derive those percentile figures, neither can I effectively contest the numbers you present. I certainly don't consider myself "top 2.5%" - only average. The Shipley test is the one to which I am referring...

No wonder these United States are in trouble, our teachers dope the best minds into stupefication !

I won't tell you where I fall in those numbers you mentioned BUT I can verify that family and social pressure to NOT excel most certainly exist. God knows how many advances we haven't had because the young genius was "corrected" for "misbehavior" ; high I.Q. is especially despised by those who have genuine difficulty with logic and mathematics.
