What an excellent post! But I'm sorry to say that this essay stirred in me a feeling of loss. Is there really a way to bring the culture back other than to live one's life according to the standards he expounds upon as moral? I don't think there is, specifically because of the collusion the author touches upon, of so many of our citizens, in the advancement of these evils.
And to my mind their collusion is all the more damning and effective, because it is a collusion of silence in the face of apparent evil for the sole reward of not having to endure ridicule or criticism because of a belief. In other words their collusion is motivated by cowardice, and not a type of cowardice that a person might be able to understand, such as acting in a certain manner because one's life might hang in the balance. It amounts to no more than a fear of popular opinion. And that type of cowardice really scares me.

I would agree except that I believe the power of prayer and the strength of our God is so much more powerful than evil and wickededness. He will surely answer us in His time. And we must continue to stand up in the face of deviancy and bang the pots and pans for a return to morality--even if it gets us persecuted--because that is our obligation as followers of Christ. =)

Shalom.

And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." (Matt. 19:25-26)
Trust in God. Not that it will be easy -- "take up your cross and follow me" is more than a nifty turn of phrase.
