He did cut taxes, then raised them in 1983, and raised the SS tax in 1984. He also, along with Dan Rostenkowski, sent real estate into a funk in 1986 by eliminating selected tax breaks for rental real estate owners.

Reagan was the greatest president of the 20th century, but he got snookered by the Democrats on tax policy and did less to advance the pro-life agenda in 8 years than Bush has done in 2.

I'm with you Lucius! President Bush is a mixed bag. What are we suppose to do, throw our support behind someone who has no chance to win? I can't stand the atmosphere in this country when a Democrat is in control- the homosexual lobby, the environmentalist, NOW, Jesse Jackson etc. all have more power and exposure. We need some State legislatures to take charge and appoint electors to the electoral college with no pretense of an election of the masses, the way our system was desinged.

Unfortunately most state legislators fall into two categories, they are as corrupt as those in Washington, or as clueless as the voters that elected them.
