It's illegal to hunt these critters in California! The result being, more and more people are attacked by them; and by golly, if one of them attacks you and you kill it, you'd better be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that kitty warranted killing! The only thing that isn't a specially protected species in California is Homo Sapiens!

theres quite a few right in the SF bay area. In Palo Alto there was one on the loose for about 7 hours after first being seen in neighborhood. Then a PA officer found it in a tree and killed it with her AR.
