NEW YORK, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- As the debate about a U.S. invasion of Iraq continues in Washington, President George W. Bush's administration is quietly getting ready for a fight, Newsweek reports in the current issue. U.S. munitions plants have put on extra shifts to rebuild arsenals depleted during the Afghan war, and a few hundred uniformed personnel are working as advance teams in Jordan and elsewhere, assessing the need for new airstrips, wider roads and the like, Newsweek reports. And even before Saddam Hussein became a priority target, the U.S. Department of Energy was working to get America's strategic petroleum reserve up to its full capacity of 700 million barrels -- enough to meet U.S. energy needs for more than 80 days in a crunch, report National Security Correspondent John Barry and Diplomatic Correspondent Roy Gutman in the August 12 issue of Newsweek (on newsstands Monday, August 5).

This time, let's take and keep about 80% of Iraq's oil field to pay for the war against Iraq, the follow-up war with Iran, and other necessary ant-terrist actions. When out national debt is paid off, we can return the oil fields to Iraq.

Not to belabor the point but here's yet another story, without primary sources, about a story not yet published which obviously can't be sourced.
The demands of the 24 hour news cycle are certainly reducing the "news" to common speculation.

The Brits are "asking us, 'How do you propose to keep law and order the day after?'" a senior Bush aide tells Newsweek. "And when there's no concrete answer, the question comes back: 'OK, how long are we going to be occupying Iraq?'
The answer should be, as long as it takes to establish a secular democracy based on a written constitution.

It's worth remembering that the Sink Emperor, while he was filling the aforementioned sink, was draining the strategic oil reserve to keep inflation low and his poll numbers high. Our country is in better and surer hands now.

and trust me it is in dire need of repairs. We have been puting bandaids on some of that equipment for awhile.

Clinton should be forced to pay to restock our reserves, since he foolishly reduced them in a time of peace to help Algore.

And all of Saudi Arabia's oilfields, and all of Iran's. $5/barrel for EVERYBODY. It's a great way to stave off a depression.

Could repairs be waiting because they don't want to do the expenditure if they think they won't be getting oil for a while?
