I got the news this afternoon from one of the searchers. She was pretty broken up. I waited to post until I could get a sourced document. A couple corrections to the story are needed: The child disappeared on
Wednesday, not Monday. He was at the
Great-Grandparents home--a 25 acre farm/ranch.
This one does not pass the smell test. Among the searchers were off-duty guards from the local prison with their dogs. Every vehicle on the property was searched at least twice down to pulling trash out from under seats. They would not have failed to open a trunk lid. It is inconceivable that the same searchers with dogs who found the child today, missed it on Wed. and Thurs. It is telling that the official search was called off at 2 pm on Thursday and the child was found in a previously searched car on Friday.
My source tells me that a large contingent of TX Rangers and local cops escorted the child's mother and step-father for an interview yesterday. There were tips called in that point a suspicious finger in their direction. I hope the OA stays on top of this one until some answers are found.

Poor baby. This is the little guy who was going out to play with the goats. Didn't a motorist see him walking a couple of miles down the road? No way he was in that trunk when it was first searched.

Why no Amber Alert on this? Why no mass media hype? Or is it only with little girls that go missing? I realize there are missing kids all over this country..but come on now...this was deserving of the same national exposure...no?
God rest his soul

I am so sorry to read this............

I think Amber Alert is issued when children have been abducted by strangers. Like the two yesterday. That's how I heard it explained--but I was listening with one ear and the dog barking.

Plain and simple the boy was reported missing. I realize that the Amber system is not in every state yet and all but what the hell gives here?
To: NerdDad
Why is it that little Angels are being victimized? When will the Gates of Hell open for those who need to be engulfed? I hope it is soon, as I'M GETTING REALLY SICK OF THIS CRAP.

Thanks, Texas girl, for the ping.
NerdDad, I was born and raised in Ft. Stockton, so this strikes close to home.
I agree that if the Texas Rangers are involved, something is fishy here.
We'll see more on this.
God, I don't understand the inhumanity of humans!
May the Good Lord hold this little one in His arms.

From what I heard on TV today, only 17 states utilize the Amber Alert. Maybe this state doesn't.

The goats are innocent.

The Amber alert system originated in Texas. But the Fort Stockton area is still a pretty remote part of Texas. The Amber Alert system works when you have freeways and electronic signs and radio stations that carry the messages. This town is in the middle of nowhere.

This has been a horrible past few months for the children of our country. I hope we see more endings like we did yesterday when the victims are found and the perp is shot to death

I've been watching for an update on that little boy. This just breaks my heart. Poor little thing. If you don't mind, when you hear something else, please ping all of us on this thread. I know we all want to see JUSTICE for that baby's murder !!!
To: NerdDad
This is just sick...the poor little innocent darling.

A FBI special investigator on Fox News two days ago said that the incidence of child abductions by strangers
25 years ago was actually 300% higher than it is today.
Perhaps with 24-hour news available we're all just better informed than 25 years ago, so it feels that way.
I hope they find who did it and that it wasn't the parents.

I will check the local papers tomorrow, radio just had that the body was found. I never watch the local tv news.

Why is it that little Angels are being victimized? Why?
Because we have cheapened life.
Our laws allow innocents to be killed for convenience.
Our public schools do not teach that there is a God to whom we are answerable to.
Because our laws and our courts coddle the perpetrators of crimes against children,
promoting the false idea of "rehabilitation".
Punishment is not swift and sure - and permanent.
That's why.
Any FReepers have any other suggestions as to why?

This is only my opinion, but it's been my long standing position that capital criminals should be returned and executed in the area their offenses were perpetrated, and there should be public executions.
I know it sounds brutal, but the last public execution (hanging) carried out in my resident county afforded twenty-three years without another capital offense.
Coincidence? No, today we have "sanitized" capital punishment by allowing so much time to pass so that there is no longer any association with the punishment to the brutality of the crime.
Capital punishment is/was intended to be a deterrant to crime. That means the general public who sanction the prescribed method of punishment should not be insulated from viewing executions, but in fact, be given that responsibility to witness the form of punishment. Executions witnessed by a select few for a crime many can hardly recall only serve to provide state sanctioned revenge and can offer no dererrant properties....

Az

"public executions"
I TOTALLY AGREE!
Anyone out there is welcome to criticize me...
I've often said that "they"re welcome to call me and I'll be happy to "pull the switch" to end someone's sorry existence.
"Cruel and unusual punishment"?
Cruel and unusual punishment should only be considered death by mutilation or some slow and painful death. (Although, I have some feeling that maybe death SHOULD BE the same manner in which they took a life/lives)
As far as the "public" part of it:
I can't help but feel that it'd be VERY helpful in the deterrent of crime! To actually SEE someone who's guilty, die for the crimes he's committed would have to deter anyone but a rabid animal from committing similar violent crimes
