I wonder how they are going to act when their 17 year old child acts like an 17 year old.

My 17 year-olds acted very responsibly. Don't assume every 17 year-old acts or acted like you did.

Good for you. However most kids actually act like they are 17 or 18 when they are 17 or 18. Some of them wait until they are 28, married, and have a few kids, but it usually happens.
