I think you are missing the point. It is like saying you want to turn the Republican National Convention into a political debate while the democrats hold their convention.

There's a side of me that wouldn't mind seeing that.

...I’m troubled that you want to waste time...

I'm not sure that it is a waste of time. Until it was pulled the thread that not_a_sheep started actually was a fairly civil exchange between people with different views. It was nice to see that happen for once.

...and money it takes to keep Free Republic going by allowing them to flood in here. I suppose when it comes time to raise money, then FR can’t meet its quota, then the liberals can rejoice in the fact they shut us down.

I think that you're verging on the apocalyptic there, but you do have a valid point. This place is supposed to be by conservative for conservatives, and JR is within his rights to ban those who try to mess with that dynamic.

Given the fact that you are suggesting you wouldn’t mind seeing the Republican National Convention only further demonstrates how you don’t see the absurdity of your wish. You want to take a place where people of a certain political affiliation gather to set their tone, define their issues, a place where they must allow democrats to have a Alpha Al Gore standing there shaking his head and huffing every time someone speaks. Don’t you see my point is that we go on to meet and debate elsewhere, but the convention is where one particular affiliation meets?

I really am failing to understand why you keep persisting on listening to Phil Donahue, allowing the commies to flood, and now you don’t mind turning the GOP convention into a place for the democrats to infiltrate as well. Really, what is your motivation?

And you can call it civil discourse all you want to, but someone entering a forum and trying to deceive people is not civil at all. You want to ignore the sinister intention. The message was a garbled attempt to convince conservatives that we should welcome communist with open arms in the spirit of America, even if they want to get into the government with the express purpose of overriding the constitution.

And finally, I wasn’t being apocalyptic. You are suggesting we allow all who want to join in thereby turning a conservative forum into a place for liberals, anarchists, and everyone else. It cost money to allow for space for people to do such and when it comes time to raise money to keep this place going, they wouldn’t be paying a dime. Try being a little more realistic.
