djmojo: Just posted this in the Freeper zone...WE will NOT allow the ignorant and arrogant to hijack the foundation upon which our democracy was built. We will NOT allow them to twist and corrupt the meaning of words. We are the United States of America. Whether you like it or not, United means something. It means that both the popular and unpopular views of the day are allowed and encouraged to be expressed without fear of reprisal(whether violent or slanderous) or censorship. Those who would have otherwise would be well advised to go take another look at the Constitution. Your actions and words are a shameful disgrace. Being a patriot is more than slapping a bumper sticker on your car, or chanting "USA!" at a wrestling match. No one needs to tell me I'm a patriot, nor do I need to prove it to anyone. The men and women who sacrificed life and limb for this great nation, did not make distinctions in who they were trying to defend. They defended all of us - liberal and conservative or otherwise(even Communists). Because we are the United States of America. The political difference between Communism and Democracy, is that in a Democracy, even the Communist is allowed a voice, whereas any alternative political viewpoint in the Communist state is silenced. So, FOR THE LAST TIME... if you are so ignorant that you would call a liberal Democrat a commie, and tell them to go to China, realize that you are the one who is closest to the Communist, and you would probably be better suited to make that trip. Thoughtful and factual contention to today's issues beyond the tired, self-pitying ramblings of Rush and his ilk should be encouraged and assessed. All other criticism should be seen for exactly what it is: the bathroom wall scrawlings of the immature and the illiterate.

I can't think of a single communist country that would allow a dissenting political activist to leave, never mind pay his fare to get there.

I find it easy to ignore stupid off-topic or hypothetical questions or change of subject when their purpose is clearly to prevent discussion of the issue originally raised, or the news reported.

I'm not sure the management wants it advertised - but I know what happened and it had absolutely nothing to do with his anti-Bush sentiment.

Its too bad they don't extend us the same courtesy on THEIR website.

I go to DU from time to time when I'm in the mood to argue. I keep a civil tongue and have never had a problem -- and that's while I've been arguing a pretty strong conservative/libertarian line. I don't call it that, of course; I avoid labels. I also stick to issues and avoid the Bush-bashing, Clinton/Gore worshiping threads.

FR allows posters a much longer leash. DU bans quickly, but I think the main trigger is any use of bad language by someone who disagrees with the party line. That is ironic since they allow all sorts of potty-mouth stuff directed at conservatives, but it's a simple enough trap to avoid.

The biggest difference is that the information and sophistication levels are so much higher at FR, but you already knew that. DU has a scattering of competent liberal posters whom it is fun to engage, but the imbecility level is awfully high. Not that we don't have our clowns too, of course.

These Left wing Democrat activists are little more than jumped-up Hitlerjugend. Remember this, and remember this well: if they had the guns and the power, they would send us all off to reeducation camp. And don't you think they wouldn't. Leftists with power did that to ordinary people in the last century. Almost 100 million people died at the hands of Communists, Nazis, and assorted other totalitarians. These people at DU are no different.

Just thought that bears repeating...except it wouldn't be reeducation camps, but death camps.
