wow, thats a bold statement. hate to break it to you but these days 16 and 17 isnt too old for girls to be experienced. even your own kids.

They were raped, and if their parents had insisted on a curfew earlier than midnight, or if their 'boyfriends' had had any [strike "balls at all for fighting back"] [add "guns"], it would not have happened.Oh, okay. I agree. But guns are illegal in California, and therefore unavailable, right?

Which news agency so wisely decided to report this? They should be sued now by the victims. The local sheriff opened up his big mouth on Larry King, and within minutes every other news outlet ran with it.
And sure enough, the next hour on Aaron Brown's show, the girls had already been blue-dotted and their names not given, though one parent of each was shown, and named. It's really quite laughable how pathetic "journalistic ethics" is. Come to think of it, it's very close to the way Democrats act: Say nothing at all bad about murderous Palestinians because that would be bias (though of course tearing Israel to shreds is perfectly fine), and after you ROYALLY screw up something, just pretend you never did it and stage a coverup. Like the whole world doesn't ALREADY know these girls' names and what they look like. Dot them all you want, CNN; it's still your fault and we know it.
(Not that I think this really matters, since I've never understood why a woman needs to feel embarrassed or humiliated about having been raped against her will. I know they do usually feel that way, and I know why they feel that way; I just think if rape victims would start speaking out about it and making it clear they have nothing to be ashamed of, it would eventually remove the stigma from all women.)

Exactly, thank you..

That's what I was wondering too. A 16 & 17 year old @ lover's lane @ 1am. I guess curfew is an outdated concept these days.

Oh, okay. I agree. But guns are illegal in California, and therefore unavailable, right? When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. The perp had one!

have you ever had a gun pulled on you? what did you do?Hint, he can't point the gun at everyone at all times, and sometimes, the gun won't be pointed at anyone at all. This fact is readily ascertainable to anyone who isn't drunk/stoned/flying/etc, at that moment.

Acting on a tip, authorities spotted the Bronco near Lake Isabella...

Your inquiry is disgusting in its implication. These kids have an absolute legal right to be wherever they happen to be. The kidnapper had no right to do what he did. To even suggest that the kids were in the wrong place suggests that the criminal SOB should somehow be exhononorated because he was simply enforcing the proposition that if you go to lover's lane at night some darkish hoodlum will kidnap you to teach you and others an important lesson is sick. Glad the perp is dead. Kudos to the shooter who greased the bastard. Kill the perps and lay off the kids.

Maybe their parents are social conservatives so in order for the couples to do anything they had to be outside of the homes.

What a pig you are, nobody deserves to be raped. Obiviously you find little difference between rape and having consensual sex. Rape hurts like you wouldn't believe, the perp cares not whether he hurts you. Hopefully if you are male, you are not married, I'd hate to be your wife.

so you have never had a gun pointed at you? i doubt you would be so tough.
the gun was probably pointed at the guy and not the girl. if he had attacked the criminal then he probably would have been shot. at least im sure thats how he felt.

I raised three kids--all in late thirties now. My kids did not stay out to even midnight when they were in high school. My stock statement to them was, even when they were in college, "Nothing good happens after midnight."

I was afraid this would be announced. 12 hours of terror for those girls. I pray they will find a way to get over what they have been through. Very sad news, the only bright spot is Ratcliff will never harm anyone again.I always wonder in such cases if it wouldn't be good for the girls' psychological health if the LEOs handed them each a gun and let them take a couple of shots at the pervert's dead body, anywhere they wanted. Personally, I'd aim right at the crotch.

That's one of the ugliest things I've ever read on this forum.

"nothing good happens after midnight"
That is exactly what my parents said!
uh, dad, is that you?

Um.... you guys are upset that the media released their pictures and names?
- Um...This was a missing person's case! you know... get their names and pictures out there so they could be found? Were we supposed to be looking for two Jane Does with no pictures?
True, Rape victims names are rarely released, but that was not what the media did. Their names were published when they were kidnapped in an effort to find them.
This turned out much better than I feared. They could have been found dead.
