You are trying to make a dangerous device in people hands idiot proof.

No! I have no answer on how to fix that. I have been asked throughout my career to provide answers to that question. That is why there are so many safety regulations covering everything from step ladders to lawn mowers.

The only way to prevent a accidental discharge from a gun is to unload the the damn thing and to treat it as loaded and cocked each and every time you touch one or pick one up.

No device or warning label can prevent a idiot from doing something stupid. Your device must be placed in the chamber. How about placing nothing in the chamber? Won't that work just as well considering a idiot might pick up the gun? Or, is there something actually better than nothing?

Thanks for your imput but your wrong.

Go read the article called " FIREARM STORAGE PATTERNS IN THE US HOMES WITH CHILDRE" Then come back and tell me I am on the wrong track. What I am about is trying to put an end to accidental shootings. Are you aware that since 1979 until now over 70,000 people have died by accidental shooting. Five times that # have been injured. So far nothing invented has put a stop to that. That is what I got started.

I have noticed a lot of people saying its stupid, idiotic, insulting etc, etc yet no one else has an answer. If your into guns like I am we are taught to leave the firing chamber empty and always treat a gun like its loaded. Yet if you take the time to read some the accidental shooting stories you'll find it was ususally done by a kid that found a gun or by someone doing something stupid.

I would have hoped that we could all be on the same side pushing for gun safety. Instead what I am seeing is a lot of hate mail and slams. Sad.

This is going to be on the market and it is going to save a lot of lives I hope you use some kind of safety device.

As I understand things and correct me if I am wrong, in Canada the goverment and anti gun groups protested to the gun community about guns not being safe and the pro gunners ignored them. So they started passing laws and now no one can own a gun in Canada except the police and military. I am pretty sure the Consititution protects us but the anti gun network is doing everything it can to change that. So whats the answer? Make guns safer any way we can. If the accidental shooting rate falls that will be one less bitch they have.

I agree with you about not keeping one in the chamber yet a lot of people are doing just that. There are plenty of facts and figures showing that people are storing loaded guns and they have kids. Most everyone on this site knows their way around a firearm and don't need this but there is a place for safety devices and hopefully we can get people to act responsibly when it comes to storing their guns. If not my invention use something, anything is better than nothing.
