As I understand it, the number and rate of childhood accidental shootings has fallen to an all-time low, of around 100 per year for children below the age of 14. I don't have the cite handy, but I seem to recall it was from the National Safety Council.

Last year over 3,000 were killed by accidental shooting kids under 19 were 185 of them. A life lost is a life lost. 5 times that # were injured and did not die. Guys we have got to stop this. If you know of anyone that has a kid and a loaded gun lieing around show them a safety device. ANY safety device and bring them to someone that is teaching gun safety. Go to the CDC in Atlanta and pull up there info.
