Please tell your neice that chicanos living in 2002 were not displaced from their homes. Maybe their ancestors were, but not them. Plus, ask her why so many mexicans try to sneak into our great country every year at great personal peril if they'd rather live in Mexico. I think those mexicans who got stuck on this side of the Rio Grande after the war probably thanked their lucky stars that happened. I know I'm thankful my Irish ancestors caught the boat over.

I'm glad my Irish Ancestors were stuck here too :o) O'Brien and Nagle here :o)
Also, while what happened to my Cherokee Ancestors was awful, I'm of the mindset that while it was awful, it is in the past. A "long long ago" past.
Why on earth would I want the country I LOVE, that I served and that my husband served, because we LOVE it, to suffer or lose because of wrongs done so long ago? And I'm so with you,.. ANYONE, Be they black white or purple are lucky to be living in this country!! We thank GOD every day for the multitude of blessings we enjoy as AMERICANS!
Thanks for a response that made sense. Seems like there is a LOT of that at FR sometimes :o)
