No, I did. If you watch the movie, which is reputed to be historically accurate, I think you would agree that those men were indeed slaughtered.

IMHO, having read two books on the battle, and having seen the movie twice, the plan was flawed. It was going fairly well up to the point Wolcott went in. But, why did Garrison send a convoy of unarmored Humvees and 5 tons into the warren of the Bakara market in the first place? Why not instead put the Ranger chalks down, put Delta on top and bottom of the Olympic and exfil the whole bunch back from the roof with Blackhawk slicks and gunship support during their exit? Surely Army aviation could have clamped down the entire area surrounding the snatch site? Am I missing something here? That said, Clinton and his butt-buddy Les Aspin were ultimately to blame for the needless losses by their reluctance to appear "warlike". What a sorry joke, but it was on the Rangers, Delta, SEALs, and 10th Mountain guys.
