July 30, 2002 -- Rep. Gary Condit claims the media wanted him to say he "did" slain intern Chandra Levy, and compares newscaster Connie Chung to Russian President Vladimir Putin in an angry, defiant interview, it was reported today.

The Washington Post said that in the interview with Esquire magazine, the California Democrat blames the media for his problems after he was romantically linked to Levy, whose remains were found in a Washington D.C., park on May 22.

Gary might finally be cracking. He was the only one to vote for Traficant, now he unloads on Connie.

I guess the phrase, "Nothing to lose", would apply.

If my memory serves, Condidit "chose" CC for the interview as his best PR move at the time. If that is the case, then Condidit has no-one to blame but himself.

I just saw on the ticker at the bottom of FOX Gretta, that Condit has given $100,000 to his two kids from his ,I guess ,campaign chest!
