Yes and no, cg.

People are not outraged enough by all these child rapes, child abductions, child abuse.

If this happened in the 1930s, a crowd of vigilantes would lynch this person. And that is what SHOULD happen today, were our society healthy.

That's what is lacking today -- total spinelessness and permissiveness in dealing with these sorts of satanical animals.

Which emboldens the hundreds and hundreds out there, silently contemplating a similar crime.

Read Leviticus, then read Colonial American history.

Our children suffer because we are not doing what needs to be done to this sort of animal.

I don't think it's that people aren't outraged enough, but that the government refuses to let the punishment fit the crime. A guy rapes and kills a child, and he'll either spend his life in prison, where, hopefully, the other inmates will deal with him, or get off easy and die by the needle. Evil people like this aren't afraid to commit crimes like this because they know they'll get off easy. The punishment has to fit the crime. You can't have one size fits all.

I think people are pretty outraged,,everyone I talk to is. This kind of horrid crime has been going on for hundreds of years. Sexual assaults are not new to our time nor are assaults and murders of babies. And what is new is the so called sympathy for the perp. I understand that the perp has probably led a life that is no picnic. But I don't care. And right now there is work being done on a depravity scale to qualtify evil for purposes of sentencing. And as outraged as I am, I don't think lynching is something we as civilized people. Now if the father wanted to kill the perp, as a juror I would never convict him of anything. But a mob? No,,lynching as an act isn't always foolproof, lynch mobs kill people who aren't guilty of anything. The desire to lynch is perfectly normal but not the action.

So caddie, are you willing to be the one to go find this animal and string him up? Are you willing to let your family be left alone, to fend for themselves, while you spend the rest of your life in jail? You seem to think others are weak because they don't adher to vigilante justice - are you willing to lead the lynch mob?
