This isn't the same FBI that has been given more power to snoop on us, is it?

No, this is our finest law enforcement agency in the world. The pillar around which our justice system is based. Our bulwark against the terrorists trying to infiltrate our country. The same agency that refused to show any interest in Massouri until after 9/11, letting the Michigan police handle his case and refusing to participate. The same group that seem unable to solve the anthrax case, even though they know where the strain was produced and the postal facilities involved. The same bunch that couldn't find who ordered 900 files delivered to the White House, etc.

William Hedgcock Webster

Director FBI 1978 - 1987;

Director CIA 1987 -1991;

Teamster Review Board 1992 - ???

Older than dirt and, more prevalent in the beltway these days, is the insider's insider William Webster.

Justice for hire, the Honorable William Webster never met a Bench, Board of Directors, panel or commission he didn't like to sit upon, until Ken Starr asked him to oversee a probe into alleged payments to key Whitewater witness David Hale.

Such pious concerns about conflict have never been "The Judge's" hallmark.

For example, he currently sits on the boards of the anti-union Pinkerton Security Agency and Anheuser Busch -- whose workers are members of the Teamsters Union -- while sitting on the Teamsters 'Independent' Review Board (IRB) -- with Fred Lacey former judge in the U.S. Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, who in the early '90's "investigated"/cleaned up Webster's CIA's role in diverting money to Saddam Hussein's military machine (BNL/Iraqgate).

Once, when asked by a reporter if he believed he could conduct an independent investigation of the BNL/CIA matter, Webster's Teamster IRB mate Lacey responded, "I think 'independence' is best defined as a subjective thing".

The third member of the IRB is 50 something Rhodes Scholar and United Mine Worker's General Counsel, Grant Crandall.

No stranger to conflict himself, this Clinton/Oxford alumnus also represented Mine Workers president, Richard Trumpka, who has taken the 5th in the stalled Ron Carey/DNC Teamster embezzlement's glacially paced grand jury 'investigation'.

Perhaps its just pure serendipity, but the creator of the tactical squad which went hunting on Ruby Ridge has made a career of just 'Being There' and the press has allowed him to drift through one disaster after another with impunity.

Here now, in less than perfect chronological order, for your contribution and comment are some of William Webster's greatest hits:

.......

February 23, 1978 ~ confirmed by senate as FBI Director 90-0

1978 - 1987 ~ Director FBI

1987 - 1991 ~ Director CIA

1992 ~ Hired to investigate claims that Martin Marietta subjected its workers to dangerous practices at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

1992 ~ Hired to investigate LAPD response to riots after Rodney King verdict.

1992 ~ Hired to a panel overseeing the Teamsters Union, the 'Independent' Review Board (IRB).

1981-1988 ~ Ran the CISPES investigation, "an aberration among thousands of counterintelligence and counter-terrorist investigations the FBI conducts annually"......Senate Intelligence Committee

1994-1988 ~ Ran Teamster Boss Jackie Presser as a FBI informant.

April 1985-February 1994 ~ Aldrich Ames ~ Spied under Webster's nose while he was Director of FBI & CIA.
When questioned by Congress after losing 200 Agents in Eastern Europe in little over a year, Webster said, "No one told me."

October 22, 1987 ` Ron Carey changes the last will of Ann Morgan, an 'incapacitated person', with UPS attorney Joseph Previte, making himself beneficiary.

November 20, 1987 ` Ron Carey gets a grant of transactional immunity from then US Attorney SDNY, Rudy Giuliani, in a union embezzlement scheme.

July 1988 ~ just eight months later Giuliani RICO's the Teamster Union -- the union consents to a government run (which Carey out of nowhere wins) election and the 'Independent' Review Board (IRB) ~ Webster - Lacey - Crandall

1986 ~ Webster fires FBI agent Robert Frederick after the New York Times exposes Jackie Presser as an FBI informant.

Frederick is indicted for perjury but the charges are dropped because FBI Agent Paul Minor 'forgot' to advise Frederick of his rights before confessing to a cover up in order to protect Presser. Frederick's fellow Agents collected over 90K for him after Webster fired him. - Oliver B. (Buck) Revell (the Director's #1 man) ran the ALPRO (Presser) operation.

When questioned by Congress, Webster said, "No one told me."

October 5, 1986 ~ Gene Hasenfus - guns rusting in the jungle.

1982 ~ Los Alamos scientist Wen ho Lee phones a colleague suspected of spying and discusses the case...FBI intercept

1998 ~ Appointed by Clinton to investigate alleged taxpayer abuse by the IRS.

1995 ~ Appointed to a panel reviewing White House security after a small plane crashed into the White House lawn.

1993 ~ Hired by General Motors Corp. to investigate where GM officials shredded documents relating to truck fires.

1985 ~ The Year of The Spy -- Thomas Cavanaugh, Jonathan Pollard, Larry Wu Tai Chin, Randy Miles Jeffries, Bruce Ott, Allan Davies, William Pelton and the Walkers.

.......

What do you think?

Might FOB Wrinkled Willie have some modicum of responsibility for the instant FBI security crisis? It certainly spans his watch

Judge William sessions was appointed head of the FBI by Clinton and shortly afterward was drummed out of office on trumped up charges because he wouldn't go along with Clinton's schemes. Why has no one talked to Judge Sessions? Ask the media and Congress.

Former Federal Judge, William Steele Sessions, was appointed by President Ronald Regan on July 24, 1987 and sworn in on September 25, 1987 after a 90-0 confirmation by the U.S. Senate.

July 19, 1993 ~ The Honarable Judge William Sessions was removed as FBI Director by Janet Reno after she concluded he had exibited "serious deficiencies in judgment." Clinton names Deputy Director Floyd Clarke Acting Director the same day.

July 20, 1993 ~ Clinton nominated USDCJ Louis J. Freeh as FBI Director. Louie Freeh, a former Teamster in Tony Provensano's LU 560 in Newark, New Jersey, worked under then U.S. Attorney for the SDNY, Rudy Giuliani, when Rudy RICO'ed the Teamsters in July 1988 after first offering Ron Carey transactional immunity at the close of FBI's "Three Cat" investigation in November 1987. Freeh also worked with Mary Jo Whie now USA for the SDNY whom Bush has 'left in place' to handle Teamstergate Pardon-gate; Torricelli-gate & the Hilldabeast's Hasidim-gate

FBI Director Sessions problems began JUST AS the BNL scandal emerged.

A Washington Post reporter (and 60 minutes 'consultant'), Ronald Kessler, wrote one letter timed with an 'anonymous' letter, citing the alledged abuse of an FBI plane to travel on successive Christmases as pretext a visit to his daughter, incidental to official FBI business.

It was further alleged that an agent threw some firewood in the trunk of his car to on a drive back to D.C. from New York and dropped it off at Judge Sessions' home in Washington -- The same home in which the FBI Director had the audacity to have an alarm and security system installed at government expense, shortly after the World Trade Center was nearly blown down.

No reporter has ever compared the amounts spent at the Louie Freeh residences and, not even Larry Klayman has looked closely enough at the Filegate timeline.

Webster had a female 'manicurist' regularly "do his nails" in the FBI Directors office. his 'bachelor latitude' was even often embellished after agency was tarred with the broad swish of the brush by J.Edgar.

No career minded FBI Agent ever procured or transported mere wood to curry favor with the ancient William Webster.

Bill Sessions was set up because after the unprecedented firing of every U.S. Attorney the day after Clinton took office, he had to get the FBI files and, he had to control the cops.

Webester was in private practice in 1968 -- in St Louis.

After graduating from Amherst in 1947 and then Washington U. Law, he practiced law in St.louis until 1960, when he was appointed U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri.

In 1961 he returned to private practice, until 1970 when he was appointed to the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.

A great favorite of the beer baron Auggie Busch, Webster was appointed to the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals in 1973.

Read his Op-Ed piece in the August 11, 1998 New York Times, "Congress Exceeds Its Reach". (RE: don't impeach Bubba) You can then understand why he likes to be called "The Judge" -- because no one would call him "Your Honor". February 23, 1978 ~ confirmed by Senate as FBI Director 90-0

Fill in any blanks

1978 - 1987 ~ Director FBI
1987 - 1991 ~ Director CIA

1992 ~ Hired to investigate claims that Martin Marietta subjected its workers to dangerous practices at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.

~ Hired to investigate LAPD response to riots after Rodney King verdict.

~ Appointed to a panel overseeing the Teamsters union, the Independent Review Board.

1981-1988 ~ Committee in Solidarity with the People of El Salvador (CISPES investigation) "an aberration among thousands of counterintelligence and counterterrorist investigations the FBI conducts annually" ............ Senate Intelligence Committee

1974 - 1988 ~ Jackie Presser FBI informant

October 22, 1987 ~ Ron Carey changes Ann Morgan's will, with UPS attorney Joseph Previte, making himself beneficiary.

November 20, 1987 ~ Ron Carey gets transactional immunity agreement from US Attorney SDNY Rudy Giuliani.

July 1988 ~ Eight months later Giuliani RICO's the Teamsters Union.

1986 ~ Webster fires Robert Frederick - indicted for perjury, but charges were dropped because agent Paul Minor 'forgot' to advise Frederick of his rights before confessing to lying and trying to cover up in order to protect Presser. Fellow agents collect 90 K for Frederick - Oliver B. (Buck) Revell ran ALPRO (Presser) operation.

October 5, 1986 ~ Gene Hasenfus - Guns rusting in the jungle

1982 ~ Los Alamos scientist Wen Ho Lee phones a colleague suspected of spying and discusses the case.

1984 ~ Mr. Lee fails polygraph test but passes on second try.

October 24, 1987 ~ AFL-CIO readmits the Teamsters Union

Aldrich Ames ???

He has told Congress, "No one told me." about:

Jackie Presser ....... when FBI Director
200 lost agents in Eastern Europe/Aldrich Ames ....... when CIA Director

You can see why I call him an empty suit? He's just wheeled out for the whitewash

.
