I have wondered too, what is the big attraction for diamonds? To me they are clear rocks. That phrase, "Diamonds are a girl's best friend" means nothing to me. I don't understand it. I guess some people understand and appreciate jewelry in the same way some people like Jazz, which is another thing I don't understand or care for. I have always wondered what the fuss over diamonds is all about. You can't eat or drink them, you can't have conversations with them, you can't read them; it just makes no sense to me. But that's just me.That's pretty much how I feel about diamonds and other gemstones. I've got minimal jewelry--a wedding band, a couple chain necklaces, but stones? Naw, I'd rather spend the money on something that's a lot more fun--travel, something for our families, our home and our boat. I also like silver better than gold.

I love stones and diamonds, especially; set in platinum. Some people love cars and other stuff, not me. I am with Marilyn - diamonds ARE a girl's best friend.

I'm the same way. I just wear a plain wedding band and earings. I'm more interested in my friends, family, books and my animals. But there are no bookstores here which bugs me. I wish I hadn't gotten rid of so many of them before moving here.
