It lost $1.7 billion last year...

According to the Dallas Morning News, however, the Postal Service has committed $25 million to the team "for a three-year contract that expires in 2004."

Lance Armstrong has done more to offset the often negative (and often deserved) stereotype of the USPS, which is a 'quasi-independent' corporation. He probably wouldn't be complaining if they'd spent five times that on advertizing, which they probably do with less effect.

Why is everyone picking on Armstrong?

Anyway that is only $8.3 million per year. As for their loss, it's less than 1/200th of the total. They can find better places to cut.

I didn't read it as a slam against SUPERMAN Lance ... but a commentary on the WASTE in the USPS. They are actually riding Armstrong's coattails. &;-)
