Up here in my part of PA, we get most of our power from Niagara and from local coal-fired generators. Of course, on the grid all electricity is fungible, but I figure the vast bulk of our power comes from the closest places.
And all the greenies who have made strip mine (surface mining) permits almost impossible to obtain with the enviromental controls. So in 2002 we still have crews working beneath the earth because it is easier to risk lives than the landscape.
You said it Don; the same thought has been going through my head also. Anyone who is against nuclear power and the proposed ANWAR borings had better take a long hard look at this and ask themselves whether or not risking the lives of our fellow Americans is worth it.
Anyone who answers yes to this is below contempt, and they should be made to serve just one day in these mines....
