It's not hard RWG. Their platform is,"Vote for us, and we'll take a bunch of money from other people and give it to you."

It's just that simple. Logic? No. Letting human nature take its course.

I don't think it is as simple as that. I have seen surveys where taxpayers were willing to continue at current rates if they were assured that the debt would be paid down. I have also seen other surveys that indicate that taxpayers are willing to pay for services. What we ought to be looking at are things like tax loopholes and the farm bill. Whatever the voters think they are voting for themselves is hardly a drop in the bucket when compared to all of the corporate welfare, farm bills, and tax loopholes which are not items for which voters cast ballots.
