That is a powerful piece of scripture. I'm not a Hebrew scholar, but I understand that the word translated "wings" has an additional meaning: the fringes of a garment.
Remember the woman who was desperate to touch the hem of Jesus' garment. That would be the fringe of what we today would call his prayer shawl.
This also reminds me of the blind man who cried out, "Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me." It then says that Jesus stopped. Interesting, because we know that Jesus never did anything that he didn't see his father doing.
So what this means is that, because one man, at the end of his rope, so to speak, cried out to God for mercy, God in heaven, and therefore everything in heaven, STOPPED.
The limitless power of prayer to Almighty God, who is mercy.
I pray in the matchless name of the Messiah, Jesus, that as Dan cries out to you for mercy, that you, Father, would pour out your mercy on Dan and his family. Mercy, not because Dan has earned it, or prayed just right, or done good works, or led a clean life. But simply MERCY. Amen.
