A couple of dead crows found in the parking lot behind my apartment house in Takoma Park last year tested positive for West Nile. My apartment house is about two miles from Walter Reed.

Yes, I remembered you had mentioned that earlier, which is why I pinged you on this. Have you heard anything locally as to whether the West Nile virus is all of the same strain?

There clearly is a spread of WNV from the initial New York outbreak. But it appears possible that there were one or more other introductions as well. (By "introduction," I don't necessarily mean an intentional test of a biological agent; it could be a natural, unintentional introduction.)
