LOL....this is harder than a Rubik's Cube! I thought what the father said was that he
assumed that the little girl went across the street to her
grandparent's home, where she sometimes goes, not that he
saw her walk across the street. So, he says, "I went over there to get her and they hadn't seen her." I think that's when he called the police.
Excuse me. But, when I am home alone, whether it's morning, noon or night, the DEADBOLTS stay LOCKED just for this very reason...so no one I don't want to get in can, and no one I want to get out can get out. And we've already done a fire drill, there's no need to get into that.
It sounds like this group can't get the facts together. They should immediately be separated, and questioned individually.
Whatever, I sadly have come to the conclusion that it's too late for this child.

The Emergency Alert System for Abduction (Locally named Sarah) went out at 10:00AM local time.
FNC was sending out a description of the Red-headed man as a suspect at large, while I had been watching all local news channels reporting for at least a half hour that this man was in custody and been questioned!
