Yes this is troubling me... could the coverage of poor little Samantha have actually made someone want to go out and do it themself? Don't answer that.

That's a double edged sword. The coverage WAS needed, but living here, I'll tell ya.....NOT MUCH was given out. I highly commend Sheriff Carona and (I hate saying this) the local media.

What DOES bother me is there is/was talk about maybe the trial being televised.

After the Angie Houseman/Cassidy Senter thing, they're REALLY tight-lipped. If the FBI is there, the major case squad is too. I hope she's not at the bottom of the Meramec. Somebody said they have dogs out: the bloodhounds? I know the state has them, and they have to wear doggie life preservers because they don't swim very well.

Right! We all know how the media works. You can go into your local Walmart and see hundreds of missing children's photos, stories you've never heard a word about.....but regardless of what game the media is playing, the fact is that these things are really happening to children. These reports could save lives. If it were my child, I would want the story posted everywhere as fast as possible.
Watch your children. They are safe NOWHERE!

I agree with you 100%! I'm a mom of two beautiful girls and I literally weep every time I hear these abduction stories.

I am what you might consider to be an over-protective mom, but I'd rather be over-protective than easy-going these days.

I may be dense - let me see if I understand - the media should not be repoting this as an actual abduction type thing - cuz it's obvious that this guy did it - but they are just trying to blow it up cuz the perp is white and will balance out Avila?

Just read a letter to the editor in the Miami Herald today. "Can we not implement a national-identification, chip-implant program to register children to help prevent them from being abducted?"

Fox reporting that search is suspended and a body found. This is from local reports and they are trying to confirm.

Police have now suddenly suspended their search, per Fox. Police may have found a body in the nearby woods, but not confirmed yet.

According to an interview with (neighbor or friend?) on Channel 4 Local CBS, nightgown was found but NOT reporting a body found yet. Police took the mother away from the scene in an unmarked car about an hour ago. This reporter has not seen the father in hours.
