Don't kid yourself. It's a Capitol One card and probably has a limit of anywhere from $500 to $5,000. Don't let the KMART name fool you.

lol yea i know, I was just trying to make a dumb joke. They usually have the card insurance where you dont' have to pay for unauthorized purchases or at most you pay 50 bucks. Hopefully her credit won't get ruined but it seems she's taken the right steps in contacting the right places and putting fraud alerts out. Too many people find out after its too late.

One time my son received a FedX package with tickets to some concert in Atlanta. He knew he didn't order them so he called the people who sent them to him. Evidently someone had gotten ahold of his credit card number and was making purchases on the internet. This time they had sent the tickets to the address on the credit card rather than sending them to the guy who ordered them or he would have ot found out. This guy had even set up a email address using his name only a different server. Had airline tickets, jewelry etc.. He called the police who tracked the guy who was using it. It was in a different county so they couldn't help him but gave him the info and he went there and talked to the Sheriff. Came to find out the guy they were looking for was right there in the county jail for credit card abuse. He finally got it straightened out but it was a mess for a little while.

1. Get as complete info on our "fellow citizen" in LaMark, TX as you can.

2. Order several books by Hayduke (master of revenge).

3. Apply his suggestions with extreme prejudice.

4. Give her name and address to all of your creditors.

5. Take out dozens of magazine subscriptions on her behalf, using her name and address (shake out the subscription-offer cards from the mags in question).

5. Prosectute and sue the cockroach yourself-- if you get around to it and there is anything left to sue and prosecute.

6. Repent.... 8~)

"Swine xxxxx" is something that Inspector Clouseau said about anything that didn't work out for him. If you haven't seen all of his adventures, you owe it to yourself to do so...... 8~)

I know one better...assuming an idenity, someone's ss# get a credit card etc etc....BUT have the mail sent to another unsuspecting person's mailbox...who happens to work all day BUT the mail is delivered religiously at about 10 am....well these cretins "help" themselves to another person's idenity and have the mail sent to a 3rd location...how do I know this...I was involved in a large post office box fraud ring here in Houston Texas...ohhh the stories I could tell...BTW if you have a mailbox on your house (vs the block postal units seen in newer subdividions) AND you live on a corner...your average of being a target almost double.

The thing to REALLY worry about is when someone is using your name, your mother's maiden name, and your SS number to get credit (as happened to me). If this person isn't using your identity, then her use of your SS number won't get you in trouble unless the IRS says, "Hey, we see X total income for this number but you're paying taxes only on a portion of X so here's your bill for the rest."

but you can bet it didn't stop them from dinging me for $7337.27.

So what happened when you told them to go pound sand?

Thanks for all the help! I got hold of them again and they told me it was an error their company made and it has been fixed in their computer. I do have my number now on the fraud alert at all the credit reporting agencies though. Oh well, it can't hurt!

I didn't tell the IRS to pound sand, I got down on my knees and begged and pleaded and cried, but to no avail for two years.

It took them that long to discover that when I was in NYC I was black, but reverted back to white in Texas.

In my case, I realized something similar was happening when the person with my name, address, and their photo on another state's drivers licence applied for instant credit at a major department store for himself and his friend named something like Shaniqua.
