Don't bet on it. Most of them only use it to get the job and pay no taxes as they work as 'contract' laborers. If they do, they will probably retire before you and get your earnings!!!!!!!!
Seriously, everyone should check their SS# to be sure no one is using it. A women in the Rio Grande valley was using my daughter-in-laws number and was receiving WIC food on it. The numbers they are using have to come from somewhere. I have heard of the SS# of dead people being used - but I think those numbers are bound to be 'used up' by now, considering the numbers of illegals here.

Don't feel bad,one of our credit card banks called us this evening inquiring if we had authorized two billings, one for five $ and change and another for nine and change from an overseas account. We told them we had not and they immediatly canceled our cards and are reissuing them. They told us these type of crooks maybe do hundreds at a time for just a few $ to keep from being detected and hope they will slide by but these two billings came from a recognized fraud ring so they notified us.

There shouldn't be a serious court case, since, if you "killed yourself" it will be considered a suicide.ROFLMAO :-)

Yes, but in our case we knew who was doing it personally. First step is to contact your known creditors and let them know someone has your SS number and is using it. Request that they place a block on your accounts (especially credit cards) where proper ID is needed before they can be charged too or used.
Second, pull copies of your credit reports from all three major credit reporting agencies and go over them with a fine tooth comb. If anything looks supicious immediately contact the credit reporting agencies that are reporting it and let them know you are:
1. Disputing the entry.
2. Fraud has occured and you need contact information for the reporting company.
3. That you are willing to press charges against the person(s) who have done this.
Third, call your banks and make sure your accounts are secure. Everyone of them, including that savings account you opened up 10 years ago and forgot about (everyone has done that at one time or another)
Fourth contact every creditor that you believe fraud has occured and request their fraud division to investigate the accounts and take appropriate action.
And finally, contact your local police and report the theft of your identity (SS Number) and provide them with all information on accounts opened in your name illegally - along with the information on the person who opened them.
It's a long, hard process and I wish you the best in it.

Good luck, I am still dealing with this.
Check with the IRS to make sure the taxes are paid, this is how I first found out someone else was me. The IRS came after me for unpaid 1099 taxes.
Thought I had it cleared up and then earlier this year, I was thinking of buying a SUV and found out I already a bought a new pick-up and house.
A note of encouragement this has been going on for fifteen years.

I called SS, they weren't much help. They did tell me every couple of years that people should order the form from them that shows all wages that have been reported to your SS number.

Illegals very often use stolen Social Security numbers to gain well-paying employment, I know several people who ran into very big problems ---couldn't get a job or their credit was messed up over this and it can take a long time to get it straightened up.

Will they issue you a new card ? IF the illegal is paying into your fund that is good for you :>) BUT if they are using it for credit that is bad..
That should be a federal offense to use someone elses Government ID ....so who polices that ?

That was part of the problem, the IRS said, I failed to file at first, then changed it to I failed to report all income. They did have a bit of a problem with explaining how I could be working in Houston, Texas and a New York City restaurant at the same time, but you can bet it didn't stop them from dinging me for $7337.27.
I sure would like to see my new house and pick-up sometime.

Had an epiphany this morning.
In the early 1970's I worked for a Social Service agency. One client was using 2 sets of SSN's in 2 different states to collect welfare benefits. Social Services honchos would not do anything about it, even though the case worker had written proof. The lady collected 2x funds in 2 states for at least 6 years.
This might also be the case with this lady using your card.

Go to America Most wanted website.
AMW
At the top of the front page is Identity theft protection.
You get flagged anytime someone uses your name, ss# or credit cards numbers. I just heard about it myself but plan to check it out.
Don't know how much help it is after the fact though. Check it out.

she got a "Capitol One K-Mart Card" LOL that sucks, whats the credit limit on a K-mart card anyway? 50 bucks? That won't be so bad if she maxes it out and doesn't pay.

LOL that sucks, whats the credit limit on a K-mart card anyway? 50 bucks? That won't be so bad if she maxes it out and doesn't pay. Don't kid yourself. It's a Capitol One card and probably has a limit of anywhere from $500 to $5,000. Don't let the KMART name fool you.
