Cary Stayner willingly negotiated a confession for four killings while sharing pepperoni pizza and sodas with the FBI agents who caught him. He wanted three things, starting with a ``good-sized stack'' of child pornography photographs and videos.
The taped conversation, played in front of a jury for the first time, was among new evidence introduced Tuesday by Stayner's attorneys in the Yosemite killer's death penalty trial in San Jose.

It makes one wonder if Cary might have had something to do with his brother's abduction, given that both Cary and Parnell (the guy who abducted Steve) were into child pornography.
Truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
He's the older brother of Steven Stayner, the boy who was kidnapped as a child and then returned to parents many years later. It was the basis for the book, I Know My First Name Is Steven. Steven Stayner was killed in a motorcycle accident in 1989.
What a messed up life.

I guess I wouldn't be good jury material. If I saw that, I'd be convinced the guy was guilty and forget about the stupid technicality.
That's what I figured. You know, I wonder how the family (and the murder victims) would have turned out if CARY had been the one abducted. It would have been a 'Minority Report'-like scenario where Cary would be punished by sodomization well before committing his crimes.

The sheer gall. The sheer, unmitigated f-ing GALL. He has his prosecutors over a barrel with technicalities and NGRI pleas and whatnot and he's playing it for all it's worth.
On that Missouri girl thread somebody made the comment that there are "devoids" who walk this earth with no trace of humanity in them-- hollow shells, sub-animals with no interest other than feeding their own voracious perverted appetites...
"Moral flatliners" is another term for them. No sign of any honorable traits.
