Another blast from that upstanding trigger-lock expert, Parris "Spendening" Glendening. ;-)

Half the reason Bush Sr. lost to Clintoon was because they played up Bush spending his summers at Kennebunkport while the economy was hurting. They said it showed Bush was out of touch. AND IT WORKED. Dubya is turning into the same klutz his father was.

This really irks me. Bush has been in the White House for weeks and the market has gone down anyway. If he goes the market is not gonna change. CONGRESS GOES AWAY HALF OF THE YEAR ANYWAY. I've never seen public servants who get more time off than Congress and get paid so much money! What's the difference. BUSH has no control over the markets! Do we have to hit the democreeps over the head to get that driven into their brains??? THE DEMOCREEPS are complete idiots!

This is such a stupid argument. Especially in today's telecommuting society.
Anybody who buys the argument that an President, any President, is ever really "on vacation," is just an ignoramus.

This time the democrat is right. It is a dumb move to take a month long vaction at this time, if for NO other reason, than just what you see....the democrats will use it....Our side has to THINK about how something looks or sounds. It is stupid to give them the bullets for the gun.

Our side has to THINK about how something looks or sounds. It is stupid to give them the bullets for the gun.Unfortunately, our side never does.
Check out David Horowitz's "the Art of Political War" sometime.

President Clinton took heat for borrowing rich friends' homes. Funny, I don't recall ever reading a media story that criticized him. Sheesh, he lounged around Martha's Vineyard and the Hamptons all the time.

Thanks. I Love Hackworth. Have read "About Face". Great Book. As for Bush, someone is NOT giving him sound advise. Clinton, and the democrats, have proven that what the people THINK you are doing (even thought Clinton did NOTHING) is the FIRST battle in the war. Clinotn proved that image is key to public confidence. It is DUMB for Bush to go on a month long vacatlion NOW, and I have a long record at this forum of defending Bush, WHEN HE IS RIGHT.

Half the reason Bush Sr. lost to Clintoon was because they played up Bush spending his summers at Kennebunkport while the economy was hurting. . . . Dubya is turning into the same klutz his father wasThat's pretty simplistic. Remember Perot? Some impact, maybe?
I couldn't disagree more about what George W. is becoming. Way too much is expected by some - way too quickly. Considering what damage George W. & team inherited from The Criminal plus the horrendous damage wrought by 9-11 I believe Dubya and his people are doing very well. Guess it's all in ones perspective.

The Rats that are really po'ed about this vacation are the ones in the press that will have to spend August in the Texas heat. That will make them show stories that he is "out of touch." Because of all the rain we have had in June and July, we have had a "cooler" than usual summer. I hope August stays dry and we have the usual heat so these pressholes will bake!

Never mind that DC empties in August every year no matter who's in office. I guess reality never intrudes on the thoughts of the Left.

Anyone who pays attention knows that the President takes half the white house and the WH media with him when he goes on "vacation". I don't even know why this is called a vacation. The only difference between him being in Crawford and being in Washington is that he is sleeping in his own bed. The media HATES Crawford because nothing is there. They whined about it last year and they hate that they will be going back. The Deomcrats whined about him "vacationing" last year. It's all politics.

[Blaming summers in Kennebunkport for Bush's loss to Clinton is] pretty simplistic. Remember Perot? Some impact, maybe? You'll note I said half the reason...
