The Pallies and their supporters are trying to intimidate Israel from repeating this killing of Shadeda.... Their goal is to make it so Hamas honchos are free to roam Gaza/West Bank unmolested while they dispatch homocide bombers and other killers to Israel and where Jews live.

How is it that your opinion is so out of line with that of the Bush administration? Are you a Republican?

Pallie goal is to make it so when the Jew killer has his family with him he cannot be attacked. Hamas goal is to be able to use human shields while they get to kill Jews with impunity.

Hamas goal is to make it so the battle is always in Israel and never taken to PallieLand.

If this story is true, then great. Israel should attempt to minimize civilian casualties just like we do in Afghanistan. Judging from the previous stories, the Israelis had little regard for the civilian lives that were lost. They didn't indicate that anything was wrong with their attack procedures.
I guess time will tell. I am not going to pretend that I know better than they do how to deal with their terrorism problem. But I know what mistakes are and that raid was clearly a mistake.

Some nice details in this article but probably some spin as well. The article would have you believe that a similar attack was called off 10 times in the past because of the chance of civillian casualties. Yet this attack was done not with a sniper shot or a cell phone bomb, but with a 1 ton bomb. My understanding is that Gaza is one of the more densely populated places on earth. So how do you drop a 1 ton bomb in Gaza and NOT have civillian casualties. My idea is that you don't and you can't. I'm not critisizing the IDF, as I'm glad they got their man. But I do think there are parts of this article that are hard to swallow, it sort of sounds like Roger Clemens saying that he really wasn't throwing AT someone. As so many people have pointed out already (starting with WT Sherman) War is Hell.

...."This PC crap"...

It's rhetoric..... don't sweat the small stuff.

The death of some Palestinians in Gaza is the paper carrying the message...... "stop the killing".

Think of the Godfather and the guy waking up with a horse head in his bed.

When in war, there is no other way then to strike the shield of your enemy, if enemy defends himself with a shield. You can go only so far in your humanity, because this enemy exploits your humanity in inhumane ways. If you don't kill your enemy does not matter of what, you are sacrificing your own.

Isn't it odd...those who are so outraged about some collateral damage when Israel responds, are utterly silent when Jewish men, women, children, and infants are slaughtered.

These are the same people who were dancing in the streets on 9-11-01. I hate to see injured children no matter which side they are on but the suicide bombers bring this on themselves and then cry when their chickens come home to roost.

Oh, poor babies, guess they gots a boo boo!

I'm not sure what your point is. I did in fact shed a tear for the 8 month old "collateral damage" and the other 8 child incidental victims.

Hopefully, the entire neighborhood will go BOOM!!

You sound like any old Hamas/Real IRA/Corsican/Al Queda terrorist with comments like that. You do no credit to this Israeli action with your comments.

I do support, and am glad, that the 'target' is dead. The military wing of Hamas is a terribly destructive and discpicable organisation which consistently undermines any possible peace process. I believe the Israeli army could have done it at a time which would have caused less innocent casualties, but I'm in no position to quibble given the importance of the target.

I do, however, strongly object to you calling for the deaths of more innocent children, or neighbourhoods, for no better reason than they are Palestinians. BOOM! indeed!

My mother taught me well, so for now the worst I'll call you an ignorant despicable cad.

Apart from that, best wishes,

Keep the Aspidistra flying.

No doubt your Mother was against the dropping of the atom bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki as well. You have my pity.

When Arabs declare war on civilized societies, they must learn that civilian deaths happen in war. Palestinians are very eager to kill Israeli citizens but then they scream when their own are killed.

Maybe we need a new slogan around these parts "What would Sherman do?" (no offense to Southern Freepers).

Please reread my post. I expressed my outright support for the action taken. I also expressed sorrow at the loss of innocent children's lives.

If you have a problem with either of those conclusions, say so.

But please don't talk about my mother at all. And in kind, I'll pay you the respect that any civilized and sensible person should, and not defame your mother, or misrepresent your comments in such a way that would bring her into disrepute. If calling people's mothers names is the best you can do, than I'd urge you to dig yourself back into the hole where you belong.

You call me names, you bring your Mother into the discussion and now you are saying I shouldn't bring your mother into the discussion. Get real! You are intellectually dishonest.......

The Pals have made a career of using and hiding behind innocents--and it has been effective thus far, until Israel began to regard its own situation as desperate. This is ruthless, but it is just. We know how little value the Pals place on innocents, since they sacrifice them so easily. Their tears are crocodiles'...Israel probably cries more for these than the Pal men ever would. If Israel manages to cripple the Hamas leadership, maybe the innocents will have a chance.
