YES they did.

That would be an opinion call, he refused it.

I see no law restricting the defense lawyer from interviewing neighbors and using a subpoena.

Just common sense. Hostile witnesses who won't say what you suspect is the truth, but can't prove they are lying, are a waste of time. If you ask and they deny, why bother with the subpoena. A subpoena is only good if they have admitted the statement to you but do not want to testify.

If this were you being accused would you allow your lawyer to not seek oput some kid that was in the RV or some parent that saw them ?

I read that the judge refused to let Feldman's investigator sit in the court room. It seems to be someone (a woman) he uses all the time. I read, how feldman argued with the judge to let her sit and observe. The judge refused, he used the excuse = because of 911= things are different now. Feldman then asked the judge if his investigator could get -like a special clearing- to be able to get into the court room ahead of the 'line'. Judge Mudd denied that request as well. I don't remember right now what date in the transcript I read that, but I thought that that was unfair....
