As far as I know, Christian Identity adherents are not likely to hijack a plane and crash it into a building, or strap a bomb to themselves and detonate it in a crowded shopping mall. Hoping and praying for something does not automatically equate to actually carring out a plan of destruction.

The year 2000 of the Christian Era equates to the year 1368 of the Hegira. In short, it's not a big round number.
Also, unlike the Christian Identity folks, the Islamists generally kept their mouths shut.

I was working the solution end at the time, and I noted that (a) we were fixing software BEFORE it broke (which was unheard of before Y2K) and (b) we were fixing a ton of other nagging problems at the time ("Hey, Clem, while I'm under the hood fixin' this dern radiator, you want I should stick on a new fan belt and regap your plugs?")
