sourceMr. Rubin joined Citigroup on October 26, 1999, where he participates in the strategic, managerial and operational matters of the company"
After stepping down as treasury secretary in 1999, Rubin joined Citigroup, the international financial services firm, where he serves as chairman of the executive committee and member of the office of the chairman.
Rubin is up to his eyeballs in this scandal.

Yep....the sellers are back at it....will it cliff dive or steady back at around 1-2% down? Has yet to be the total capitulation many were calling for but it is for sure not a rally as a few expected.

Go drop (I've got -375/-45 in my poll). BTW, the NASDAQ already busted through my original prediction of -250/-20.

Yes, that was a stupid move. Like they didn't have all spring to do it? Argh. Oh well. It's just a race.

No; he's up to Janet El Reno's eyeballs (Rubin's too short for him to just be up to his own eyeballs, unless he's standing on a few people).

Pardon me for asking a very stupid question and one that I should know the answer to: who puts in the "curbs" and why? I know they were in on Friday, but it didn't stop it from freefalling. Thanks in advance for not calling me an idiot in public.;-)

Bear markets will surprise you..just when you think they've hit bottom, they'll reach up and bite you on the ass one more time.....99.999% of the folks on the tube blathering about the markets don't know what the heck they're talking about.....a good rule of thumb..if they're on CNBC...ignore 'em

PPT at work:
Dow -168 and rising like a cork.
NASDAQ -31 and flat.
S&P -22 and flat-lined.

If they can get enough proof of that, then things could get very interesting. But they will have to go after that hard and aggressive. This would make the accusations against Cheney and Bush seem like pikers.
At worst, this can make the issue neutral - the GOP will have a rather prominent Dem to point to, but it could tip it to a GOP advantage due to Rubin's position as SecTreas. But they will need hard proof of this, and that might take time...
