I have a hunch if AIDS had been a disease afflicting only white males, the federal government wouldn't neither be funding research to cure it nor would the medical establishment publicize it at conferences every three years or so. Forget about private sector drugs or vaccines. Yeah AIDS victims have profited handsomely despite their indulging in self-destructive behavior because they have the right cachet.
