It must just be you. To most of us, watching this administration do the same things as the previous bunch of scum and criminals is just plain sad.
Lastly, that "most" you speak of is pure hyperbole.
Some of you would argue that since Clinton so thoroughly trashed the notion of executive privilege, it should never be used again by anyone, anywhere, and at anytime.
I guarantee you that, no matter how innocent these records are, the Rats and the Media will pounce on them as "new" evidence that must be investigated. They will grab information out of context and deliberately misrepresent the contents of the files. Producing the files just gives a dead story legs, it will sustain its life for months after it would otherwise die. "Questions are being raised blah blah blah. . . "
Where you calculate incorrectly is in your assumption that the story will go away if Bush produces innocent records. It will not. It will go on and on as the media keeps repeating the RAT party line of the day, day after day, based on these "new" disclosures.
Bush is right. Take his hit now and let the story die. Eventually it will, although it will live a lot longer than if the same story had been released about a Rat. In that case, one day coverage on page 12 and dead.
Don't panic here. November is a long way away and this story will be long gone by then. Besides, if corporate scandals continue and if the media is able to make it stick to Bush, won't make any difference if Bush releases the records or not.
