Sort of. I've been on two juries simply because the lawyers ran out of challenges before they could even question me. They spent all their time and challenges on the bozos in the front row.
I don't know whether that happened here, but it's a rare case where the judge allows the lawyers days or even hours to select a jury.
Boy, have you got that right!! I have served on jury duty more times than I care to remember and the lawyers spend all their time with the first two groups picked for the voir dire. They reject most of them and then scramble to fill the seats with "left overs." They get the juries they deserve.
