That is at the very least plausible. However when certain Freepers start saying it was some nefarious plot by Clinton, Iraqi terrorists, the ATF, the FBI and several other cabalistic organizations ....ai yi yi! That is where i draw the line! Klington may have been deficient in a myriad of areas ....however when people start saying he collaborated with the FBI, ATF, Iraqi agents and other Islamic fundamentalists i start asking myself what in goodness gracious the people who are saying this stuff have been smoking! And thus my alluding to their statements to claims of the spotting of Sasquatch and Aliens with big googly eyes!

Honestly i have heard of some far flung ideas ...but Clinton hooking up with Iraqis and Jehadis, and conspiring with the FBI to blow up a FBI building?!?!?!?! If that is NOT a wild theory i do not know what is!

I agree that people can take it a bit far as you state. And that is too far. But the key is when bureaucrats get involved in something it is usually to get their man while protecting their turf and after the fact to cover up for their colossal mistakes. That's how bureaucracies work. The ATF and FBI were just beginning to get their current deserved reputation as serious problem organizations with corrupt elements and a history of bungling unprofessionalism. Heck, they don't even think the recent LAX attack was terrorism.

They wanted to be the heroes and get more funding without being reformed, and they did just did that at the expense of taking the focus off the real threat to America and continuing to be incompetent boobs (remember all the evidence withheld from McVeigh's lawyers found right before his death? Now we know these recent revelations were also withheld.)

Since 9-11 happened, their past professionalism is being examined and found lacking. Too bad it took this long. It's all about cleaning our own investigative house up. I don't think it's about going after Iraq and Iran. We're going to do that for other reasons than OKC. We need to get in better shape to stop the next attack. That could have happened after the OKC case but that was deemed a "sucess" so they got a pass.

As for Bill Clinton, he's just a slick opportunist. He was all over the "white right" before the facts even came out. The connection to Islamists could have been found in the investigation later and he wouldn't have cared. the political job was done.
