One technique of the adolescent hardass is to drawn back his fist in a feigned threat to punch his victim, causing the victim to raise his arm to shield himself.

"*Get* your arm back!" the hardass would say in a who-do-you-think-you-are tone, implying that not only did he claim the right to beat on you at whim, but also the right to do so in the most convenient manner possible.

To deny him such was considered an act of arrogance, insolence and a challenge to his status, as well as proof of your cowardice because you had "shown fear" of being punched in the face.

I still have vivid memories of 444 Days!!!! And Now Sept.11th!!!! If any of those whackos do anything more to us, period, just like that Airman First Class said when He got off the airplane, January 20th, 1981, "I'd go back in a B-52!!!!". Only I want to go back with multi-MEGATONNAGE!!!!
