They used to let non citizen recruits join during WW1 & WW2. They were careful where they stationed these men: Grandpa was from E Europe and was sent by the Army to Mexico w/Pershing's Army to find the banditos. He got citizenship & a small VA pension for serving in WW1.

Thanks Cali. As you probably know, a Marine is just a solider who can't pass the Army IQ test. :)

He was factual in his report that the Russian military would not fight their own people. And that really is the point, not his attitude towards the military.

Of course they didnt. THAT narrative/opinion was written about the era (mid 90s) when Yeslin was coming to power. It has nothing to do with Reagan and the Pope winning the cold war.

While foreigners in the military are not a new thing, this is a very different time in our history and we need to be cautious
