When Examiner Hyder was asked if he would sign such a report, authorizing the DMV to view his complete medical history, he responded, "I would have no problem signing the medical report if I didn't have anything to hide."
Hyder never did say if he would or would not sign such a report. Perhaps Hyder has something to hide and decided not to answer the question as it was asked. He could just as easily have said, "I would a problem signing the medical report if I had something to hide." That still doesn't answer the question.
"I have nothing to hide from those that I trust" is an appropriate response to a person that plays the "if you have nothing to hide..." card. How many issues do you distrust the government with. Trust government not to cook the books? Trust government not to overspend? Trust government to eliminate illegal drug trade? How do you feel when you hear a knock at the front door followed by a voice, "we're from the IRS and we're here to help".

Here in Alabama, they REMINDED me that I do NOT have to put my SSN down on my DL! How's THAT for protecting citizens?!

When Sylvia English, 39, single, and no children .... According to English, she has no insurance points, has not been in an accident, and in 33 years of driving, has received only one ticket - a DUI in 1993.
She's 39 years old and has been driving for 33 of them? Since she was a six year old?! I gotta admit, I'm impressed she got through those first 10 years with no tickets.

the saying that always bothered me was
"ignorance of the law is no excuse..."
Have you seen the tax code?
Have you ever tried to decifer "beureacratese"?
common sense is common sense, it is impossible for the average citizen to survive a governmental nitpick campagn.

He explained that the only way a U.S. citizen could operate an automobile without a license would be to have no title (because a car title actually gives the state ownership of the car), . . .Yeah what the hell is THAT? My vehicles don't belong to the damn state.
Though they may as well, what with county sticker this and inspection that, registration this and auto-owner fee that... What an a$$pain.
Crap, I just thought of somethin- are ya supposed to have a county sticker for a motorcycle?

I don't know about six, but I know of people who drove in North Carolina at twelve (farm life, dirt roads and so forth). I still see one of them every once in a while--when I look in a mirror.

Yes, "becoming".
The REAL N.C. is still out there, in little pockets, sort of like an endangered species.
To: Constitution Day
We are there. Charlotte and Raleigh squash the pockets.
