Fir is the predominant tree in Oregon, we have many varieties of conifers, plus most of the hardwood varieties.
Oregon is one tree dominant state...

We have a corner lot and in the back yard we have five white oak and two maple trees, along the street on one side there four oriental plums, plus a small fir at one corner of the front year... The other side of the front yard has eight arborvitaes planted side by side, they makes a nice 20 ft high fence...I don't have to look at my ugly neighbor... :o)

Oh yes, we have two 16 ft palm trees right in front of the house... :o)

My dad was raised in West Texas in later 1800's, his dad had 17 sections of land where he raised cattle...

Sounds so pretty! We have several trees, but I would love to have more of a variety, and live oak are our favorites here, but we have to get them from a nursery - they're not native.
