The White House is reeling from allegations that both President Bush and Vice President Cheney engaged in business practices that are disturbingly similar to those of executives at Enron and WorldCom. Like administrations before it, this White House now must choose between serving the greater interests of the office of the presidency or the narrower goals of the current officeholder. If last week was any indication, Bush officials have chosen a dangerous path of personal devotion over public duty, a path that has led previous administrations to disaster.
The recent allegations - which may prove overblown under closer scrutiny - center on transactions by Bush and Cheney when they were executives at Harken Energy Corp. and Halliburton Co., respectively. Among the unproven allegations are insider trading, questionable personal loans and fraudulent dealings. The White House staff has put on a full-court press to refute these allegations of private misconduct. In doing so, the administration is drifting into the troubled waters in which the Clinton administration found itself...

It is truly amazing how the worm turns. The Bush administration is up to its eyeballs in hypocrisy and their supporters are turning a blind eye(ball).
Most of us aren't claiming that Dick Cheney is outright guilty of the crimes alleged by Judicial Watch.
Do you disagree with Klayman that George Bush has said that Dick Cheney is above the law?
Uh yeah it does, you are trying to paint any Bush supporter as some hysterical female.
But you live in your own simplistic world, that's your choice.
I do not know the answer to your question above, as I have no way of reading the mind of Larry Klayman.
And neither does Larry Klayman.
If not, perhaps you should be fair enough to acknowledge that even you do not absolutely know for sure if Cheney is guilty of the crimes alleged or not.
Perhaps you will ask Larry Klayman to do the same thing, eh? I think not. No PR in that for him.
You do know, don't you, that Larry Klayman made that EXACT statement to Wolf Blizter. Do you agree with him?
Jonathon Turley does not work for the Inquirer. He's a constitutional law professor at George Washington Univ. Law School.
I generally tend to agree with Turley but he's way out of phase on this one. Perhaps he should have previously read the Wash. Compost editorial of last week or the LA Slimes article of Sunday. The Harken "case" has been exposed as a nothing.
Turley is generally reasonable and - unlike many "celebrities" - he answers e-mails.
The only worm that is turned is the one that went down your throat after you finished the tequila bottle, especially after your rants saying that 9/11 was America's fault on 9/12.
BTW FIJC, before you get in bed with demi, he is pro-choice.
Exactly WHERE does George W. Bush insinuate that Dick Cheney is above the law. The exact words, please.
Nice tactical retreat, Dane, but you still have a ways to go. Under your standards, police would be stymied from just about ANY investigation, lest they operate with a suspicion of guilt. I'm sure the SEC never investigates ANYONE with a suspicion of guilt /sarcasm.
And I don't even know who Demidog is.
Furthermore, I don't get into bed with anyone, as I am not married.
