Me? You area directing that at me, Laz? Please go back and find my posts - what happened to that animal is very disturbing to me. I just lost my cat Tinker Bell. She came to us one night when we found a dog chasing her. She was all fur and bones and had been dropped off and I don't know how long she had been without eating. The family who had her previously had at least had her "fixed". She still had her collar on. The vet estimated that she was a little over a year old at that time. That was the beginning of 1989.

She went through Hurricane Hugo with me. My Mama's illness and the day that Mama died, Tinker Bell got up on Mama's bed and kissed her and then laid down beside her and stayed there until the people from the funeral home got there.

She mourned my Mama as much as I did, just in a different way. She was my friend.

Yeah, I'm the same way too. When my grandmother passed away in 1997, Corky (one of my cats) started to sleep with my like a teddy bear. She does that a lot too. I'm sorry to hear about your losses. I think the thing is that our pets are here for us no matter what we look like, what we do, etc., as long as you treat them with love and respect, take care of them, etc., they will always be there for you.

I remember when my aunt passed away in 1995, her best friend was her black Burmese cat, Muffin, when she was going into the home (she had cancer, was in the end stages), she asked us to tkae care of Muffin. It really hurt us to take Muffin away, but they didn't allow pets in the home. We were hoping to take Muffin to see her on Thursday on the week she went in but she passed away a day before. I feel sad that we couldn't have taken Muffin, but I'm sure she knows we are taking good care of her this year. Muffin had a kidney infection earlier this year, one vet said "kidney failure" and she would die in a month, but our regular vet said that it was an infection. There might be a little damage there, perhaps not, but we feed her special kidney food, high carb paste, and so on and she is thriving. She is back to her self, running around the house like a little NASCAR. She will be 15 years old next month. We've spent over $1000 on her and I am glad for it.
