The author probably would not have watched if he had been my neighbor who grew up near the Pearl family and whose brother was in Daniel's wedding. He remains horrified and traumatized.

I downloaded several versions, but have not watched it. I don't intend to watch it, but it is important history and should be preserved. Maybe if it will help sway someone to view life as it really is, then I will view it with them.

More searingly than a thousand words, the quickie pornography of Pearl's end (the execution lasts less than 30 seconds) indelibly demonstrates the savagery, irrationality and mercilessness of this Islamo-fascist enemy.

Yes, it should be watched. And Mr. Pearl's wife and child should be remembered while watching it. It will sear the mind.

And those memories should be kept close at hand when a certain loathsome cult is considered.

I could not bring myself to watch it. I have seen enough horror in my lifetime, I don't want to see any more. Just knowing what these people are capable of makes my contempt and yes, hatred, for them complete, it could not be any worse. I hope his wife and son never see it, just knowing what happened to their loved one must be unbearable for them. I hope these hatred-filled terrorists burn in hell forever.

"My Favorite Headache" posted a link that had both the video of Daniel Pearl, and an unfortunate Russian soldier last night. I watched both and walked away from the computer feeling guilty yet justified in my previous self knowledge that I could wipe these people off the face of the earth like cockroaches and my conscience would not even twinge.

For some reason, they are no more than bugs to me to be swatted dead like a pesty fly. That fact bothered me, that I cannot summon enough "whatever" for them to raise them to the nobility of being an enemy. After viewing these videos I'm not bothered by my disdain for their humanity anymore. As far as I am concerned they have thrown down their humanity, they are nothing to me but brute beasts made to be taken and slaughtered, no more, no less. I certainly will not offer them the nobility of calling them an enemy, they are no more than a plague of locust, soon to be removed.

Sure I watched it. Evil needs to be confronted head on, so viewing this on my computer is a lot easier than what others must do to fight these Jihadists. Pearl video only made me more pissed at their stupid Jihads. Folks who can handle such images should watch since it shows how demonic these Jehadis are.

I watched the young Russian soldier get his throat cut and I wished I had not! It haunted me for days. I don't think I could see Daniel die in that horrible way. Hearing about it is enough.

I think we would each have to answer that question between ourselves and God--should I have watched this or that.

In terms of the violence of the beheading . . . stay tuned . . . coming to a street corner near you . . . beheadings a plenty.

We have done enormous and astronomical violence to the unborn and the being born and the almost born.

We have made wealthy gods and goddesses of those skilled at Hollyweed violence.

We are, in short, addicted to violence as a nation; as a generation; as a culture.

Harvestime. . . Maya Angeleu (sp?) wrote about harvestime. We tend to have the delusion that when we plant grapes, we'll get Porches. Or when we plant cactus, we'll get mangoes.

Alas, we WILL reap what we have so liberally sown.

It happens to be a universal law. The Blood of Christ can sometimes moderate it or even remove it on an individual basis when there's deep heart-felt repentance and earnest effort toward a different walk and probably on restitution as well.

But even after 9/11, there seems to be precious little of such.

The wealthier are getting wealthier with more violence. The ungodly do more violence to any hint of God in the public square. The innocent are assailed even to the point of kittens on the Bar-B-Q and laughter seems to be the response of the day.

The violent will NOT have the last laugh. God speaks of laughing in derision at the wicked.

We must be cautious in our response when the wicked fall. We want not their judgement. But fall they will. . . dramatically, supernaturally, startlingly. . . and the houses that fall with them will make a LOT of dust. . . hard for everyone to breathe.

Every choice, every decision, every action is toward life or toward death. Every choice and act toward death is violent at it's core.

Hatred unrepented; forgiveness unextended at root tends to be murderous. Violence as most wickedness is bound up in the heart of man.

There is a Remedy extended on the lonely hill 2000 odd years ago. Hearts, minds, wills and actions must choose it.

But if the question is merely should one have viewed a video of a decapitation . . . in general terms, it will turn out to be a moot point--local neighborhoods will have plenty of opportunity face to face as well as the nightly news.
