Ping....and a must read about the land theft on the east Coast by TNC.

Read up on another group, Conservation International. Check out the links at the very end of my profile. It will make you sick...

Who exactly is holding the gun to the head of the folks selling land to the Nature Conservancy?
At least they do buy it. TNC is about the least radical environmental group you can find.

John my friend, you have a long ways to go in finding out how the TNC creates "willing sellers". Obviously your job is not directly connected to natural resource development or being a steward of the land. He who controls resource development controls the country.

At least they do buy it. TNC is about the least radical environmental group you can find. You have a lot to learn. I suggest reading Trashing the Economy and Undue Influence by Ron Arnold. The corruption and greed behind the environmental movement is staggering. The unintended consequences are even worse.

Thanks for the heads up!

Knew it would get to the People's Republic of Maryland sooner or later. I feel sick over this.

When you find the pattern of containment zones forming around every urban area, you'll know you are well on your way.

Can you give us some of the highlights? I had pretty much the same question about TNC. How do they exert pressure on sellers?

They don't, directly (although they have been known to drop the hint). TNC works through complicit regulatory agencies to do the pressuring for them, or they fund NGOs to sue the agency if they aren't so cooperative. Sometimes the suits are an act of collusion because agency funding pursuant to a court order is non-discretionary.
There are lots of such loops. It gets complicated.

I read a few of your links. Wow, I had never heard of them. Eye opening.
Thanks Agnes

I live in Wayne Gilchrest's district, and he is a pure RINO. I make my living counting beans for a large land developer on Delmarva, and my whole company is getting pretty nervous about the land grabs. Between Glendening's new bill, and now Gilchrest's legislation, we should be out of business in the near future.
