Today is the anniversary of Barry Goldwater's rousing nomination address at San Francisco's Cow Palace in which he blasted the Kennedy-Johnson administration for its failings and called for a return to the tried-and-true principles that made our country great.

I proudly describe myself as a '64 Goldwater Republican.

Of course, late in life Barry kinda wimped out. I forgive him. He remains the best President we never had.
